Writing an Incident Action Plan (IAP)
OVERVIEW
Description:
The goal of this training is to provide local public health department staff with the skills to create an Incident Action Plan (IAP) for disaster response. It introduces the steps involved in the planning process, elements of an IAP, and reviews the use of operational periods, the function of the planning worksheets (ICS forms), and implementation and evaluation of the IAP.
Length:
Approximately 1.5 hours
Learning Objectives:
List the major steps involved in the planning process.
Explain the use of operational periods in an emergency response.
Understand the appropriate format for development and prioritization of objectives.
Utilize incident action planning worksheets that are used when preparing Incident Action Plans.
