The mission of the Division of Public Health is to advance the scholarship of promoting and protecting the health of communities in Utah and around the globe. For our mission of scholarship to be effective, we must collaborate with partners who utilize knowledge to impact the public's health directly. Whether it is through research supported by the National Institutes of Health, engaged scholarship working with community partners, partnering with state and local health departments, or working with medical delivery systems, our role is to create, share, and support the implementation of public health knowledge.

The Division of Family Medicine provides excellent training to residents and medical students, and exceptional patient care through our family medicine clinics and inpatient services. The University of Utah Family Medicine Residency Program trains family physicians in dynamic and innovative clinical practices to be physician leaders in diverse practice settings.

CDC's National Training Collaborative for Healthcare Infection Prevention & Control

The Utah Department of Health has partnered with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Project Firstline, a collaborative of diverse healthcare and public health partners committed to creating infection prevention and control education and making it available to all healthcare staff.
